Description

Schooling and a career in tech shouldn't be mutually exclusive. We can argue that it's beneficial and makes one more valuable to excel in both aspects. In this talk, based on experience, I'd love to discuss how one can manage the two aspects efficiently.

Abstract

As a fresh graduate of the Nigerian university system, I've seen my fair share of students struggle to combine schooling and a career in tech. Depending on a few factors, such as grades, motivation, financial status, etc., students often leave one to better focus on the other. As a person who just left the system and was able to manage both to a certain degree of success, I would love to guide undergraduates in the system on how to minimalistically manage school while still having enough time to work in tech and even upskill.
